The Central Conference (www.storia.cc)
is a permanent telematic forum dealing with the humanities. It is also a consultation centre for the development of any electronic initiative within broad subject areas including history, philosophy, literature, languages and the humanities.
The Central Conference is open to scholars and amateurs, and targets universities, schools and associations.
The Central Conference, which awards the CC Humanities Award to the best electronic projects on the web. It is currently developing a new search engine for the humanities, Onoria, and is working on an on-line Italian library for the humanities (Biblioteca umanistica in rete - BUIR). Editors, specialists and users of electronic editions or on-line material who register with this service can receive information about the humanities.
We welcome everybody to take part in the forum (in five languages): just register and conform to the regulations!

- MedioevoItaliano.org is the gateway to the Italian Middle Ages, offering an e-journal and discussion list; it has been on-line since 1999.
- ItalianisticaOnline.it is a project for the electronic dissemination of Italian literature, language and culture.
- Spolia.it offers information, studies and research on the Middle ages.

CC Humanities Award
The committee of the Central Conference award the certificate (CC Humanities Award) to on-line projects which have distinguished themselves highly for correctness, comprehensiveness and research.

Italian library for the humanities on-line
The Biblioteca umanistica italiana in rete (BUIR) virtual Italian library for the humanities on-line is edited by members nominated by the committee of the Central Conference. This project is still work in progress.
If you are a member of Medioevo Italiano Project or a surfer of the WWW and are interested in the themes of the Conferenza Centrale, you can register for the forum and take part in discussions in several areas. Remember that you will be held responsible what you write, so be careful and use good sense!

How to register
The Medioevo Italiano Project (MIP) is constantly aiming to make and develop new means to study and research the Middle Ages on the web. In order to encourage the growth and progress of the humanities on line, MIP makes its experience and expertise available to those projects that require help or information through the Conferenza Centrale.
Our experts will also be available to evaluate and offer suggestions on new ideas and projects. These projects can benefit from our consultation at every stage from conception to their final form.
